Busy bees in the pink at J D’Cruz!

There’s quite a buzz around J D’Cruz this month – with lots and lots going on inside and outside the studio!

We’re holding our very own Wear It Pink Day on Saturday 20th October! We’re joining thousands of people who’ll be wearing pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raising money to fight breast cancer. Since it first started, over £31 million has been raised for life-saving research. In our showroom, there will be special discounts on our handmade pink leather items and 10% of the day’s sales will go to Breast Cancer Now. Handbags, pink cake and fizz, what’s not to love about that!

I was very excited to start my MA at The Royal College of Art last month and have already got stuck into my first group project with some amazing textiles students. I’m enjoying experimenting with colour and texture and sharing ideas.

In between research and project work, I’m making lots more of my special little Pimlico bags as they’ve been sooooo popular this year! Small and mighty, this cute little shoulder bag is the perfect day to night bag. Watch out for some sumptuous new handmade prints and metallic colours ready for those Christmas parties and special occasions!

Tickets are now on sale for the Charity Fashion Show at Tudor Hall School. I’ve been working with A Level Textile students this year to produce a collection of brilliant leather bag designs which will be on show at this event and will be on sale at J D’Cruz. I’m so pleased to share their excitement as all their hard work comes is rewarded and they get to see the fruits of their labour – it’s one of the best parts of the design and creativity process!

Please come and join us at the Fashion Show on Friday 16 November at Tudor Hall, it’s going to be a fabulous event and tickets are just £15 including wine!

Must go – can’t stop for long this month! Check out the brand new Pimlico styles at www.jdcruz.co.uk. We’d love to see you on Saturday 20th October – don’t forget to Wear It Pink, we will be!
